Country sees 20.6% more tourists in 2023 compared to 2022: statistics
- A total of 1.168.730 tourists were registered in North Macedonia in 2023, of which 434.598 were domestic tourists and 734.139 foreign. Compared to 2022, the number of tourists has grown by 20.6 percent – 0.6 percent among domestic tourists and 36.6 percent among foreign, according to data from the State Statistical Office.
Skopje, 12 February 2024 (MIA) – A total of 1.168.730 tourists were registered in North Macedonia in 2023, of which 434.598 were domestic tourists and 734.139 foreign. Compared to 2022, the number of tourists has grown by 20.6 percent – 0.6 percent among domestic tourists and 36.6 percent among foreign, according to data from the State Statistical Office.
The number of nights spent in 2023 has grown by 10.1 percent compared to the previous year, 1.4 percent among domestic tourists and 22.9 percent among foreign.
In December 2023, 55.875 tourists were registered in the country, of which 38.6 percent were domestic and 61.4 percent foreign. The number of nights spent in December 2023 was 111.668, of which 41.6 percent were realized by domestic and 58.4 percent by foreign tourists.
