Constitutional Court's decisions should not be debated: PM

Skopje, 20 September 2024 (MIA) - Constitutional Court orders should not be debated. Sometimes we may like them, other times we may not, but I do not think they should be commented on, said Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski on Friday asked about the Constitutional Court's decision to freeze the 'Balancer'.

As regards the reaction from the ethnic Albanian bloc and government coalition partners, following the Constitutional Court’s decision, Mickoski said he has seen it and it agrees with what "we've discussed in the past."

Мојата порака до луѓето во Брисел е јасна - ако навистина сакате да бидеме дел од европското семејство тогаш има начин, ако има желба има и начин. Повеќе ултиматуми нема да прифаќаме, барем д

"Yes, I saw it. The reaction is in line with what we've discussed in the past, practically, that promotions and employments should be based on quality, which is what we are advocating for practically all the time," Mickoski said during an event on reconstruction of a street in Shtip on Friday.

The decision, he added, is not final, but the court decided to temporary freeze that part of the law, until a final decision is made.

"I remain of the opinion that the Constitutional Court's decisions should not be commented on," Mickoski said. ssh/nn/
