Skopje, 10 November 2022 (MIA) - The Constitutional Court said Thursday that due to increased interest by the media and organizations, a case has been opened in which the statute and program of the "Ivan Mihajlov Cultural Center" Association have been disputed. The case is in the early stages during which the necessary information is being gathered, the Court said in a press release. The party Levica submitted the initiative to the court claiming the statute and program are not in line with Article 20, Paragraph 2 of the Constitution as "it incites national or religious hatred or intolerance" and it aims at "undermining the Republic's constitutional order." The Constitutional Court also said that a case has been opened in which the program and statute of the Ohrid-based "Tsar Boris III: Association for affirmation of the cultural values of Macedonian Bulgarians are being disputed. The case is also in the early stages. The lawyer Toni Menkinovski has submitted the initiative insisting that the disputed acts aim at "undermining the constitutional order, hindering the free expression of the national origin of the Macedonian people and denying its independence and inciting national hatred or intolerance."
