Companies in free zones have no issue with necessary amounts of gas, three new investments announced
Skopje, 7 October 2022 (MIA) – For now, there are no indications that there is a risk or any issue in the supply of gas to the companies from the technological-industrial development zones. Also, in terms of electricity prices, there are currently no announcements about possible reduction of capacities or about any temporary solutions regarding the employees.   On the contrary, Free Zones Authority (FEZ) director Jovan Despotovski said, companies have a need for new jobs, and three new investments have been announced this month.   “With most of the current investors, with more than half of those who have been in the country for a long time, we have concluded contracts for new facilities. Three new investments have been announced this month and will be presented separately. Companies that have been operating in the zones for three or more years are seriously considering not only increasing the investment, but making the increase much larger than the initial investment. This shows that the business climate in our country is favorable, and I believe NATO membership plays a big role in attracting new projects,” Despotovski told Friday’s press briefing.   He noted that the number of employees in the free zones has increased by 12 percent since the beginning of the year.
