Skopje, 17 June 2022 (MIA) - Coalition partners who are part of the Parliament and the Government will hold a meeting on Sunday, June 19, to affirm the position on holding regular elections in 2024 alongside the presidential elections, said Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski. Kovachevski said at the meeting, everyone will express their opinion in order to recap everything that has been done to deal with the crisis over the past few months since the new government was formed. "We will also inform about future measures and touch upon the energy crisis, the crisis of the growing prices at world stock markets in terms of food and energy due to Russia’s attack against Ukraine," Kovachevski told reporters during his participation at the Prespa Forum Dialogue. He added that talks will also tackle the importance of leading overall policies in the direction of maintaining the standard of the population and improving the system of North Macedonia and aligning it with the EU's system. According to Kovachevski, it will be a positive meeting at which "the citizens will be convinced that there is a ruling majority and a government that cares about the living standards of citizens and providing everything a government needs to provide in times of greatest crisis". That, he added, is different from what the opposition is doing, because "we only see destruction and blocking there". "Even worse, there are political parties in the opposition that are openly against our EU and NATO membership and that openly go to meetings in Moscow at a time when the whole of Europe together with the United States is fighting to preserve democracy in all EU member states, as well as EU candidates and those who want to become EU members," Kovachevski said. As regards further talks with Bulgaria, Kovachevski said, this coalition is European and in it, all of its members have a clear goal and vision for a Republic of North Macedonia that lives according to European values, one which is integrated in NATO, which should be integrated in the EU, which has resolved all internal issues, which has resolved issues in relation to all its neighbors. At the moment, he concluded, we have the best relations with all neighbors and only one open issue with Bulgaria. dk/nn/
