Skopje, 8 September 2024 (MIA) — Of the 38 wildfires reported on Friday, 31 have been put out, three are still active, and four are under control, according to the Crisis Management Center on Saturday morning.

According to the CMC, brush fires are burning in the Municipality of Petrovec, near the villages of Gradmanci, Breznica and Katlanovo; in the Municipality of Kichevo's village of Arangel; and in the Municipality of Demir Hisar's village of Sopotnica.

Firefighters have contained the fires in the Municipality of Prilep near the villages of Peshtani, Kokre, Kalen, Dunje, Bonche, Lenishte, Velovodica, Smolani, Dren, and at Derven; and in the Municipality of Dolneni's village of Desovo.

The fires in Chashka, Chucher-Sandevo, Gazi Baba, Butel, Saraj, Shtip, Delchevo, Krushevo, Kumanovo, Staro Nagorichane, Lipkovo, Vinica, Brvenica, Tearce, Gostivar, Valandovo, Makedonski Brod, Bitola, Demir Hisar, Ohrid, Struga and Debar have been extinguished. mr/
