Skopje, 7 August 2024 (MIA) — A total of 41 wildfires were reported across the country on Tuesday. Six are still spreading, nine are under control, and 26 have been completely extinguished, the Crisis Management Center said Wednesday.

A wildfire is still burning in the municipality of Makedonski Brod near the villages of Tazhevo and Breznica and near the Jasen nature reserve. 

Another wildfire is active in the municipalities of Demir Hisar and Ohrid on Ilinska Mountain near the villages of Vitovo, Bazernik, Malo Ilino and Brezhani. 

The third is on the territory of the municipality of Chashka, near the villages of Papradihte and Oreshe. 

The fourth wildfire is in the municipality of Petrovec, near the villages of Gradmanci and Divlje. 

A fire is burning also in the municipality of Kochani, at Panagjur near Ponikva. 

The sixth active fire is in the municipality of Studenichani, near the villages of Drachevica and Crvena Voda.

Firefighters have brought under control wildfires in the municipalities of Studenichani, Gevgelija, Ohrid, Makedonski Brod, Plasnica, Delchevo, Prilep, Bogdanci and Dojran. mr/
