Skopje, 10 August 2024 (MIA) - The Crisis Management Center (CMC) said Saturday there are six active fires across the country, and two have been contained, while out of 37 wildfires registered on Friday, 29 have been extinguished. 

Fires are raging in Makedonski Brod municipality, Ohrid municipality, Novaci municipality, Kichevo municipality, Struga municipality and Skopje's municipality of Saraj. 

According to the CMC, in Makedonski Brod the wildfire is in the villages of Tazhevo and Breznica and Jasen, and it is burning in a pine forest.

In Ohrid, the fire is burning on Galichica Mountain and moving towards Magaro and Stenje in Resen municipality. Low vegetation is burning in this area.

In Novaci, the fire is burning near the villages Polog, Skochivir, Grumaci and Slivnica, with low vegetation burning.

In Kichevo, the fire is near the villages Bigor Dolenci and Chelopeci, with mixed forest burning.

Low vegetation is burning in the Struga fire near the villages Dolna Belica and Oktisi.

The fire in Skopje's municipality of Saraj is burning near the villages Laskarci and Panichari. 

The fire on Ilinska Mountain on the territory of Demir Hisar and Ohrid municipalities, and the fire at the Delchevo landfill have been contained.
