Skopje, 27 August 2024 (MIA) — Out of the 25 wildfires reported on Monday, two are still burning and two are under control, according to the Crisis Management Center on Tuesday morning. 

Rain has doused the blazes on Mukos mountain in the Municipality of Chashka at Koteva Krusha near the village of Omorani, but the forest fire has spread toward the village of Stepanci and Kadiica near the Municipality of Dolneni, the CMC said.

A brushfire is burning in the Municipality of Studenichani, at Krsta above the village of Crvena Voda.

Wildfire hotspots in the Municipality of Kichevo, near the village of Cer, are smoldering but under control and in no danger of spreading.

Also under control is the fire on Galichica mountain near Zli Dol. The rain has helped extinguish this fire, too, preventing it from spreading toward Resen. mr/
