Skopje, 4 September 2024 (MIA) — Out of the 26 wildfires reported to the Crisis Management Center by 7 pm, 18 have been put out and eight are still burning, the CMC said Wednesday evening.

Two fires are burning in the Skopje region: a bushfire in the Municipality of Petrovec, near the villages of Gradmanci, Breznica and Katlanovo, and a forest fire in the Municipality of Chucher-Sandevo, at Ramno near the village of Tanushevci.

There is a fire spreading in the Municipality of Prilep, near the villages of Peshtani, Kokre, Kalen, Dunje, Bonche, Krushevica and Volkovo. The fire is spreading in three directions: from Bonche toward Krushevica, and from the Sliva pass toward the villages of Chumovo and Peshtani.

The Mukos mountain fire in the Municipality of Chashka, is under control near the village of Stepanci and is burning near the village of Omorani and at Kadiica near the village of Oraov Dol. 

Fires are also burning in Shtip, near the villages of Hadzhi Hamzali, Edeklerci and Toplik, near the Krivolak military training ground, in the Municipality of Dolneni, near the village of Desovo, near the restaurant Romansa on the old Prilep – Bitola road, and at Derven.

Firefighters have extinguished the fires in Brvenica, Jegunovce, Staro Nagorichane, Prilep, Shtip, Kisela Voda, Rasadnik, Studenichani, Karposh, Negotino, Kumanovo, Vrapchiste, Krushevo, Demir Hisar, and Gostivar. mr/
