Skopje, 18 August 2024 (MIA) – The Crisis Management Center (CMC) reported forty-two fires in the last 24 hours. Of these, 11 are still active, while six have been contained.

According to the report, there are two active fires each in the municipalities of Dolneni and Probishtip. There is one active fire in the municipalities of Debar, Mavrovo-Rostushe, Macedonian Brod, Plasnica, and Chashka. The last two fires are in the territory of two municipalities each - one affecting Ohrid and Resen, and the other affecting Demir Hisar and Kichevo.

The fires that have been brought under control are in the municipalities of Kichevo, Novaci, Makedonski Brod, Demir Hisar, Delchevo, and Chashka. The emergency number 112 recorded 2,342 calls, with 53.80 percent were deemed 'real' emergencies.
