Skopje, 14 August 2024 (MIA) - A total of 37 wildfires were reported across the country by 7 pm Wednesday. 14 are currently active, five have been brought under control, and 18 have been extinguished, according to the Crisis Management Center (CMC).

Active wildfires are reported in the Makedonski Brod municipality near Jasen - Belica; in the municipality of Kochani and the municipality of Makedonska Kamenica near the villages of Preseka and Cera. In the municipality of Resen, the fire near Galichica is spreading towards Mount Magaro and the villages of Leskoec and Stenje. In the Ohrid region, the fire is advancing west towards the area of Voitino. In the municipality of Dolneni, the fire near the village of Debreshti is spreading towards the villages of Rilevo and Zrze. In the municipality of Kichevo, the fire near the village of Pateec - Kozichino has expanded towards the village of Gorno Krushje in the municipality of Makedonski Brod. In the municipality of Kichevo, there is also a fire in the village of Zajas - Gorno Strogomishte…

Five fires have been brought under control: in the municipality of Pehcevo near the village of Negrevo, in the municipality of Demir Hisar and the municipality of Ohrid near Ilinska Planina, in the municipality of Chashka near the villages of Oreshe and Papradishte, in the municipality of Delcevo near the Delchevo landfill, and in the municipality of Chashka near the area of Mukus and towards the village of Drenovci, as well as in the municipality of Prilep.

According to the CMC, 18 fires have been extinguished.
