Skopje, 27 July 2024 (MIA) - The Crisis Management Center (CMC) said Saturday 16 fires have been recorded over the past 24 hours, 13 of which have been extinguished, two are still active and one is under control.

The two active fires are in Makedonski Brod municipality, which are being put out using helicopters and ground forces from the police, firefighters, forest enterprise employees and local authorities.

The wildfire in Demir Hisar has been put under control after two firefighting planes, firefighters and the national forest enterprise took part in the extinguishing operations.

The 13 wildfires that have been put out were located in the municipalities of Studenichani, Krushevo, Strumica, Vasilevo, Debar, Kichevo, Kumanovo, Staro Nagorichane, Vinica, Delchevo, Jegunovce and Brvenica.
