Skopje, 17 February 2023 (MIA) - Citizens have collected until February 16, 2023, a total of Mden 30,378,353 through donation hotlines and North Macedonia's Red Cross Solidarity Fund for the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria. 

North Macedonia's Red Cross, following an appeal of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, has made a transfer of EUR 3,000 from its own funds in an initial aid for the victims of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria, as well as EUR 20,000 to the account of the Turkish Red Crescent.

The Red Cross notes that in addition to financial aid, legal entities and natural persons can also donate in-kind assistance, following a list of needs from the Turkish state and the Turkish Red Crescent, including donations of blankets, tents, sleeping bags, electric/gas heaters, pocket warmers, food and hygiene products, etc. 

"All donated items must be new. Priority is given to winter tents, sleeping bags and blankets," said the Red Cross. 

The organization notes that financial aid can also be donated.
