Cinematheque kicks off 2023 film program with ‘Snow White Dies at the End,’ ‘Kaymak’ and ‘Heavens Above’

Skopje, 4 January 2023 (MIA) – ‘Snow White Dies at the End’, ‘Kaymak’ and ‘Heavens Above’ are the three films to kick off the Cinematheque of North Macedonia’s 2023 film program.

In a press release, the Cinematheque said that Milcho Manchevski’s ‘Kaymak’ and Kristijan Risteski’s ‘Snow White Dies at the End’ had an excellent reception by the audience, so, practically, these two films are back on the program at the request of cinephiles.

As part of its new program the Cinematheque will screen Srdjan Dragojevic’s dark comedy ‘Heavens Above’ as well, which premiered at the Locarno International Film Festival and participated in several other Balkan and European film festivals.

‘Snow White Dies at the End’, which premiered at the 2022 International Cinematographers’ Film Festival Manaki Brothers, and Milcho Manchevski’s ‘Kaymak’ will have screenings on Wednesday and Thursday at 6pm and 8pm respectively. Dragojevic’s ‘Heavens Above’ will be shown on January 9 at 5pm.

This mini-introduction to the New Year will be followed by Cinema Mornings with films intended for a younger audience. ad/nn/
