Skopje, 27 July 2022 (MIA) - Over 91% of households use the public water supply for drinking water, whereas only over 2% use bottled water, according to the fourth set of data from the 2021 Census on population, households and apartments, published on Wednesday by the State Statistical Office. Out of a total of 598,632 households, 547,114 have water in their apartments connected to the public water supply, 1,674 have a tap in their front yards connected to the public water supply, and 567 have water from a street tap connected to the public water supply. Around 6% of households in the country use water from a special source. Most of them, 24,229 have their own hydrophore, 4,830 use water from dug wells, 4,720 use water from a street tap connected to a separate water source, 1,835 have water from bore wells, 510 use cistern water without a filter and 311 use cistern water with a filter. dk/ba/
