Skopje, 30 September 2022 (MIA) - In the total resident population aged over 15, 23.8% are not married, 65.3% are married, 7.2% are widows/widowers, and 1.6% are divorced, according to data from the 2021 Census. Three cases of widows/widowers and 13 cases of divorcees in the 15-19 age group were also registered in the Census. In the total resident population aged over 15, 98.4% are married couples and 1.6% are unmarried couples, shows the latest batch of census data released Friday by the State Statistical Office regarding the marital status of the population, the number of live births and migrations within the country. Out of the total resident population, 81.1% said they haven't moved (autochthonous population) and 11.7% said they moved to their current place of residence. According to the place of birth, 90% of the total resident population is born in North Macedonia, statistics show.
