Caretaker interior minister meets with police unions

Skopje, 2 February 2024 (MIA) — Minister of Internal Affairs Panche Toshkovski met Friday with the leaders of the Macedonian Police Union, the Independent Trade Union of the Macedonian Police, and the Union of Police in Macedonia, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a press release.

 

 

At the meetings, Minister Toshkovski voiced his readiness to cooperate with all unions. "He said he had honest and sincere intentions to improve the work of the Ministry of Internal Affairs so that, in partnership with the unions, the dignity of police officers, who should be serving the citizens and guaranteeing the security of the state, would be strengthened," the release says.

 

 

"The minister asked the unions to help as much as they can in overcoming the challenges amid the current crisis regarding issuing personal documents, and he told them he would take all steps within his legal power to provide rewards for employees who express their willingness to help overcome the challenges in this process," the release adds.

 


The union leaders thanked Toshkovski for his willingness to cooperate with them on improving working conditions for the police. mr/
