Campaign launched to raise awareness of Roma community about importance of education

Skopje, 18 September 2025 (MIA) -- The office of Shaban Saliu, minister without portfolio in charge of integration and implementation of the Roma Inclusion Strategy 2022-2030, launched Thursday a campaign to raise awareness of Roma parents and children about the importance of education.

According to organizers, the campaign under the slogan "I Learn So I Can Have a Better Future" was launched in Kumanovo's Hristijan Todorovski Karposh Elementary.

The campaign will be led in several cities across the country. It was organized with the full support of Minister Saliu, who said his highest priority as minister for Roma integration was investing into young people.

"The campaign aims to encourage and motivate young people to recognize learning as the surest path to their better future, sending a powerful message to young people in the Roma community that education is the way to success, decent living and equal opportunities for every child," organizers said.

The campaign will provide Roma children with positive role models by sharing the experiences of successful young people from the Roma community, which should raise their awareness of the importance of going to school.

"Through joint efforts, we can create conditions in which every child will get the support they need to fulfill their potential," organizers said, highlighting that education is not only a children's right but also the greatest investment into the future of the state. mr/
