Skopje, 4 July 2022 (MIA) - The implementation of projects under the TAV-funded Programme is over 70 percent, running smoothly at the projected pace. Of a total of 82 projects worth EUR 49.7 million, so far, 60 projects in different municipalities across the country have been completed, while work is currently underway on 22 projects. Implementation of the remaining 10 projects will begin in the coming days, Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi said Tuesday. 

Deputy PM Bytyqi alongside TAV Macedonia General Manager Nejat Kurt oversaw on Tuesday construction works on the Ljubljanska Bridge in the Municipality of Karposh, regarding which more than EUR 6 million have been allocated. The bridge will connect two parts of the city, i.e. Ilindenska and Skupi boulevards, and the municipalities of Karposh, Gjorche Petrov, Chair, Butel, and Shuto Orizari.

"I am satisfied with the dynamics of the construction. The bridge construction works are expected to be finalized by the end of the year," said Bytyqi. 

TAV General Manager Nejat Kurt pointed out that the bridge will be a great benefit for local communities, noting that in addition to airport operations as its main activity, TAV is happy to contribute to the development of local infrastructure in North Macedonia.

"As one of the 90 special projects whose total value amounts to EUR 49.7 million, the Ljubljanska Bridge is of great importance because it will connect two dynamic parts of the city of Skopje, and at the same time add value and benefit to local communities and especially to the citizens of the city of Skopje," said Kurt, adding that this will not be the end of the cooperation with the Government of North Macedonia in the area of ​​infrastructure improvement.

TAV Programme includes investments in infrastructure projects nationwide amounting to nearly EUR 50 million following the postponement of the construction of the cargo airport in Shtip.
