Skopje, 24 July 2023 (MIA) - Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Fatmir Bytyqi said Monday that to date, 181 companies in the Skopje region alone have received over Mden 1 billion in financial support for their investment cycles, which has created new jobs for the citizens.  

Bytiqi visited the Seavus company on Monday as part of his visits to companies receiving financial support from the Government through the law on financial support for investments. 

Bytyqi noted that the Government and Seavus had signed an agreement on financial support for an investment project for 2018-2022, including support for the increase of capital investments, increase of competitiveness in the market and market conquest.

"For investments over Mden 83 million, we paid Mden 7 million and Mden 500,000 in state support. Our strategy and goal with the law on financial support is to identify the sectors with added value so that they can be more competitive, not only on the domestic market, but on the foreign one as well," Bytyqi said. 

As the modern economy transitions to a greater emphasis on ecological and digital innovations, he added, young people will need to develop new skills in order to thrive in this changing landscape.

Dejan Petreski, Chief Production Officer at Seavus, noted that the company is currently working in the domain of large companies in the telecommunications, automobile and banking sector, and it delivers services both locally from the country, and from other countries. ssh/nn/
