Bytyqi – Lawson: United Kingdom a trusted partner in country’s development
Skopje, 28 September 2022 (MIA) – Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi met Wednesday with new British Ambassador to North Macedonia Matthew Lawson.
Talks focused on the Government’s economic priorities, current and future economic cooperation between the two countries, as well as opportunities for its development, underlining that the United Kingdom is a traditionally strong partner in the country’s development.
Ambassador Lawson thanked for the warm welcome, expressing hope that the partnership and good cooperation will continue into his mandate. He pointed out that the United Kingdom is one of the largest foreign direct investors in the country, Bytyqi’s office said in a press release.
The Deputy PM for Economic Affairs thanked for the United Kingdom’s support in the development of the country, implementing several projects through the office of the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, including the Unit for Monitoring (Capital) Infrastructure Projects and the creation of the 2022-2042 National Development Strategy.
Deputy PM Bytyqi also expressed his condolences on the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, and wished success and good health to His Majesty, King Charles III.
