Bulgarian PM Petkov says he hasn’t seen France’s plan on N. Macedonia
Sofia, 2 June 2022 (MIA) – Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov says he personally hasn’t seen any French plan to mediate the opening of EU’s accession negotiations with North Macedonia. “As regards France’s plan, personally I haven’t seen anything in black and white,” Petkov said responding to BNR’s question. Bulgaria, he added, has always been open and ready to talk with all European partners that might have important proposals. However, Petkov noted, they have to be in line with Bulgaria’s framework position, MIA’s Sofia correspondent reports. Whatever is done, according to the PM, it has to be confirmed through Bulgaria’s framework position and passed by the Bulgarian Parliament. PM Petkov spoke to members of the media at an event held Thursday honoring Bulgarian revolutionary Hristo Botev on Mont Okolchitsa.
