Bulgarian MFA to define concrete tasks of institutions regarding dialogue with Skopje: FM
Sofia, 8 August 2022 (MIA) – An immediate obligation of the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the bilateral dialogue with North Macedonia will be to adopt a document that defines the tasks of the country’s institutions, said new Foreign Minister Nikolay Milkov, MIA reports from Sofia. FM Milkov said his deputy Velislava Petrova would, as before, be in charge of the bilateral dialogue between Bulgaria and North Macedonia, since she has already done a lot in the Sofia-Skopje ties. “We have to be able to consolidate the progress achieved in bilateral relations. A lot of specific work lies ahead,” said Milkov. According to him, Sofia’s policy on the Balkans would also focus on Serbia-Kosovo tensions and developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Milkov is part of the caretaker government appointed by Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, leading up to October 2 early parliamentary elections.
