Sofia, 24 November 2022 (MIA) - The attack on the Tsar Boris III cultural club in Ohrid is an absolutely unacceptable act of aggression, which is being fed for decades in North Macedonia against Bulgaria and the Bulgarians, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has said. North Macedonia's top leaders and the society, he noted, have to understand that the path leading to the EU passes through the recognition and respect of the rights of Macedonian Bulgarians and of the Bulgarian cultural and historical heritage, MIA's Sofia correspondent reports. Radev mentioned that when Bulgaria was under a lot of pressure to unconditionally allow North Macedonia to open negotiations with the EU, he had imposed a veto twice and raised the issue over the rights of Macedonian Bulgarians before the Bulgarian allies and partners in the European Union. The Bulgarian President reiterated that their rights had to be guaranteed by being included in the Constitution of the Republic of North Macedonia before EU accession negotiations were launched.
