Budapest, 11 August 2023 (dpa/MIA) - A man in Bosnia-Herzegovina shot and killed his ex-wife while streaming it live on Instagram and also shot and killed two other people and then himself on Friday, according to the local prosecutor's office and media reports.

The man also shot a policeman, another man and a woman at different places in the small town of Gradačac, in the north of the country, where he was a bodybuilder, trainer and owner of a fitness studio.

The public prosecutor's office in Tuzla, the capital of the region, confirmed that the two others killed were a father and his adult son.

After his shooting spree, the man, 35, shot himself with his pistol when the police tried to arrest him, the news portal radiosarajevo.ba wrote, citing the police in Tuzla.

The media in Bosnia described the man as a relatively successful bodybuilder who had taken part in international competitions.

He was also known to police as a suspected member of a drug-dealing gang, reports said. One of the reports said he had multiple convictions for domestic violence and attempted murder.

The public in Bosnia was shocked by the violent act, which was publicly displayed on social media.

"There are no words to describe what happened today in Gradačac," said the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nermin Nikšić. The politician added that he extended his "deepest condolences" to the families of the victims.
