Border with Greece reopens after wildfire is localized
Skopje, 3 August 2021 (MIA) – The Bogorodica border crossing with Greece reopened around 8 pm after being closed as a wildfire broke out nearby, the Interior Ministry confirmed to MIA.
The fire was localized and is under control after the fire brigade from the border town of Gevgelija with the help of military helicopters managed to put out the flames, MIA reported.
Power was cut at the premises of the Bogorodica border crossing and the crossing itself was temporarily closed for traffic so as to ensure that the passengers are safe and that firefighters can extinguish the blazes after they spread very close to the army border post, the local casino and a gas station.
