Bogorodica border crossing reopens after closure due to Greek forest fire

Skopje, 17 July 2024 (MIA) - The Interior Ministry said on Wednesday afternoon that the Bogorodica border crossing with Greece has reopened, after it was closed earlier in the day due to a wildfire that broke out on the Greek side of the border. The border crossing is currently functioning normally, the Ministry said.

Traffic at the Bogorodica border crossing with Greece was interrupted earlier on Wednesday after a fire on the Greek side of the border. Motorists were diverted to the Dojran border crossing.

According to MIA’s sources in Gevgelija, the fire broke out before 12 pm.

Thirty-nine firefighters, 12 vehicles and a helicopter were deployed to tackle the flames.
