Bogoev: Certain VMRO-DPMNE officials send positive signals towards constitutional changes

Skopje, 13 April 2023 (MIA) – SDSM Vice President Stefan Bogoev said that despite Hristijan Mickoski’s resistance to constitutional changes, certain VMRO-DPMNE officials are sending supportive signals towards this process.

“Our MPs are communicating with VMRO-DPMNE MPs in Parliament. However, a good chunk of them are sending positive messages in various meetings, and in places, events and conversations with people that we know will reach back to us. This is encouraging information, wherein they know that we need to do this to proceed towards Europe. I expect their public support soon as well,” Bogoev said in an interview with Fokus.

He noted that the matter of elections in 2024 is closed according to the law. The presidential elections are first, followed by regular parliamentary elections.

According to Bogoev, SDSM leads the European bloc that will secure the country’s European future.

“Dimitar Kovachevski was the first to propose the idea of a European front 6 months ago. For 11 years, we had a completely isolated country. The EU candidate status is thanks to SDSM, as well as the NATO membership and the start of negotiations with the EU with Macedonian as a protected language. We also created a positive environment to resolve the church issue,” Bogoev said. dk/nn/
