Bochvarski expects new call for subsidized flights in early March

Ohrid, 22 February 2023 (MIA) – Complaint deadlines are currently ongoing regarding the cancelled call to subsidize flights from both airports in the country, and I expect a new call to be released early next month, Minister of Transport and Communications Blagoj Bochvarski said Wednesday.

Minister Bochvarski elaborated that the commission working on the preparation of the procedure will work actively to help interested companies deliver full documentation to ensure successful procedures.

“The same conditions remain, and anything unclear can be cleared up, so that a call may be released and for it to succeed,” Bochvarski said.

Funds amounting to EUR 5 million are available, to be distributed over the course of the following three years - 2023, 2024 and 2025.

“I reiterate, we are not sticking to one company, our interest is to add more companies to our air traffic,” he said.

The amount of the subsidies is harmonized with the EC and European regulations, the Minister clarified. dk/ik/
