Washington, 16 October 2023 (dpa/MIA) – US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Isaac Herzog for the second time since Thursday.

Since their last meeting, Blinken has travelled to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Egypt and held talks with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, among others.

In the meeting with Netanyahu, Blinken reported on his talks in the region, while receiving an update on the situation in Israel, the US State Department said in Washington.

He discussed with Netanyahu and Herzog the protection of civilians and attempts to free the hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
