Bislimoski: Grid access fees to drop by 7% as of January, total electricity price shouldn’t rise by more than 1%
- The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) adopted a decision Monday raising MEPSO’s price for the transmission of electricity by 5.68 percent as of January 1, while also reducing power distributor Elektrodistribucija’s distribution price by 5.52 percent and upping the price of the National Electricity Market Operator (MEMO) by 19.8 percent.

Skopje, 2 December 2024 (MIA) - The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) adopted a decision Monday raising MEPSO’s price for the transmission of electricity by 5.68 percent as of January 1, while also reducing power distributor Elektrodistribucija’s distribution price by 5.52 percent and upping the price of the National Electricity Market Operator (MEMO) by 19.8 percent.
“The grid access fee that is paid by households and most small consumers is being reduced by 7 percent. Since we already know the price that ESM has offered at the latest tended of the universal supplier, which is 62 euro per megawatt hour, I don’t expect the price of electricity for households to increase by more than 1 percent,” ERC President Marko Bislimoski said at a press conference Monday.
Bislimoski said the grid access fee has been lowered since certain companies have registered higher profits than what was projected by ERC. Currently, households pay a grid access fee of Mden 2.3 per kilowatt-hour of used electricity, as of January 1 this fee will stand at Mden 2.14 per kilowatt-hour.
“Following these decisions, in the coming days, EVN Home, as the universal supplier, will deliver the final prices for households and small consumers to the ERC,” Bislimoski said.
