Skopje, 24 October 2023 (MIA) - By the end of this month, the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) will make a decision on the price of heating in Skopje, which will be effective from November, ERC president Marko Bislimoski confirmed for MIA.

“We held a meeting with the three state companies of the ESM for production, distribution and supply of heat energy, which reported on the start of the heating season and the challenges they are facing over the past 10 days. Although we are witnessing warmer temperatures for this time of year, still in every heating season there are weak points that are of a technical nature, and some of them are also due to the human factor, i.e. the bills for consumed electricity are not paid by the councils of the buildings,” Bislimoski told MIA.

ESM distribution of heat faced the specific situation of not allowing the crews to use part of the infrastructure that supplies heat energy to certain residents in Vodno neighbourhood.

“However, at the moment the problem has been solved, and the heat supply is ongoing without any problems,” Bislimoski said.

Activities have already started on the ground to install the heat pipes under the Belasica bridge in Skopje that was set on fire.

“With that, ERC will now start with the calculations for a new price of heating that will start to be valid from November. Final decision will be made by end of October,” Bislimoski said.
