Washington, 1 October 2024 (dpa/MIA) - US President Joe Biden has directed the US military to "aid Israel's defense against Iranian attacks," the White House said on Tuesday, after Iran launched a salvo of missiles at Israel.

Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were "monitoring the Iranian attack against Israel from the White House Situation Room" and "receiving regular updates from their national security team," the statement said.

The US military would help to "shoot down missiles that are targeting Israel," it said.
