Skopje, 15 May 2023 (MIA) - Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi is paying on Monday and Tuesday a working visit to Brussels, where he is set to attend the Annual Economic and Financial Dialogue between the EU and the Western Balkans and Turkey.
As part of the dialogue, Besimi will present reforms that have been implemented and policies being undertaken. Joint conclusions are to be adopted as a guide for the policies in the coming period and as an integral part of the documents adopted by the Government to be taken into account during the preparation of the next Economic Reforms Program for the period 2024-2026, the Ministry of Finance said in a press release.
"The Economic Reforms Program is the most important document in this dialogue with the EC. It is a medium-term framework of the macroeconomic and fiscal policy and a detailed presentation of the structural reforms for the growth of the competitiveness of the economy and job creation," reads the press release.
The Annual Economic and Financial Dialogue in Brussels brings together representatives of the EU member states, the Western Balkans and Turkey, the European Commission and the European Central Bank, as well as representatives of the central banks of the Western Balkans and Turkey. Fiscal policy, macroeconomic stability, stimulation of economic growth, job creation, structural reforms for recovery from the crisis, as well as strengthening the resilience of the economies and social policy, are the topics of discussion within the dialogue in Brussels.
As part of the visit, Finance Minister Besimi will speak at the European Policy Centre on "The war and its implications for the Balkans: North Macedonia's perspective".
