Tetovo, 8 May 2024 (MIA) – Besa leader Bilal Kasami cast his vote in Wednesday’s runoff of the presidential elections and the parliamentary elections at a polling station in a Tetovo high school.
He called today’s double elections “very important for the future of the country.”
“I call on all citizens of North Macedonia to vote today because by voting they play their part in accelerating the country’s EU integration process. Not to vote is always worse, because we might create an institutional crisis, which is what this country doesn’t need. We need functioning institutions that will speed up the process of integration into the European Union,” stated Kasami
Asked whether incidents have been reported, Kasami said that the institutions have already reacted.
“There have been reports, but fortunately the institutions, the law enforcement to be exact, has already reacted. It’s unfortunate that people in uniforms, some elements from the police force and the religious communities were involved in such incidents. We call on all stakeholders and all citizens to refrain from misusing the people’s voice, because there will be accountability,” Kasami told reporters.
