Tetovo, 1 April 2023 (MIA) - The Ministry of Economy has made analyzes and will submit a proposal to the government at the next session on placing price caps to vegetables and fruits, Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi said Saturday adding that with this measure over ten fruits and vegetables will be covered.

“On Friday, all the analyzes were completed in the Ministry of Economy according to the data received by the Customs Administration, as well as by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy in regard to price caps to fruits and vegetables. The proposal of the Ministry of Economy will include price caps or defining highest prices in the section of fruits and vegetables, and this is of course done in line with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy. Price caps will refer to over ten fruits and vegetables,” Bekteshi said in Tetovo.

He said that at the end of April or the beginning of May, the domestic production will increase and that, as he added, will have a positive effect on the price reduction. He said that the Ministry of Economy in cooperation with other institutions on a daily basis monitors all the developments in the area of prices.
