Bekteshi, Matic and Kumbaro sign joint statement over ‘Open Balkan Wine Routes’ project
Belgrade, 2 September 2022 (MIA) – Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi, Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications Tatjana Matic and Albanian Minister of Tourism and Environment Mirela Kumbaro signed Friday in Belgrade a joint statement over realization of project “Open Balkan Wine Routes” within the Open Balkan initiative, aimed to increase the wine industry tourism offer. The project will encompass wine routes of North Macedonia, Albania and Serbia; wine oases (special wine cellars not located at wine routes); and development of tourism traffic signs and a digital platform that contains data on all points of interest, including geo-location data. The project will be developed in compliance with the EU regulations and standards, promoting wineries, wine cellars, associations of vine growers and wine producers, thematic museums, wine shops and wine centers.
