Skopje, 16 March 2023 (MIA) - The Minister of Economy, Kreshnik Bekteshi, announced during a visit to a Skopje market on Thursday, accompanied by PM Dimitar Kovachevski and the director of the State Market Inspectorate Goran Trajkovski, that new price reduction measures will likely follow in April.
As Bekteshi pointed out, the analyses are done daily and no profitability will be allowed, let alone letting the crisis hit the citizens.
The Ministry of Economy will prepare information for every product and create new measures based on that, which will likely take effect in April and will be aimed towards the economy and the citizens, according to Bekteshi.
He added that all price conditions are being monitored carefully, especially of foodstuffs.
Bekteshi once again called upon the producers and importers to start reducing prices, emphasizing that it gives the country space to support them so that competitiveness increases.
"Socially responsible companies, like the ones in the dairy industry, should be supported so that their competitiveness can increase, so that they can create new jobs and export more," the Minister said. dk/sk/
