Athens, 28 April 2023 (MIA) — Energy, unfortunately, is the most powerful geopolitical weapon there is, especially following the Russian invasion in Ukraine, Nomagas executive Bajram Rexhepi said at the Delphi Economic Forum in Greece emphasizing the importance of regional connection and cooperation, MIA's Athens correspondent reports.
“We have been talking about diversifying our supply sources, but I think regional connections are the most important issue, because every country in the region and Europe has different supply sources,” Rexhepi said.
The head of North Macedonia's natural gas transmission operator highlighted energy projects North Macedonia was working on together with Greece and Bulgaria and he expressed hope that the cooperation would produce successful outcomes.
He said investments in solar and green energy should also be made as a potential solution to the energy crisis. dk/mr
