Baerbock: Russia must not be allowed to block OSCE’s work

Skopje, 30 November 2023 (MIA) – The cooperation within the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) must be further strengthened despite the fact Russia has put massive obstacles in the way of the OSCE’s work over the last year and a half, said German Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock in her address at the 30th Ministerial Council of the OSCE in Skopje.

Baerbock said Germany would not allow the Russian Government’s “game” to destroy organizations that rely on peaceful coexistence and cooperation.

“Like no other organization, OSCE is committed to the security of more than 1.3 billion people, which means they want to live together in peace and security and have good economic development,” stressed Baerbock.

According to the German Minister, the fact that Russia failed to destroy OSCE “is an important contribution to our peaceful order,” said Baerbock, stressing that “this peaceful order must continue”.
