Average electricity price for households to rise by 0.92%

Skopje, 18 December 2024 (MIA) - The average price of electricity for households is set to rise by 0.92 percent as of January 1, said the President of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), Marko Bislimoski, on Wednesday.

The price will rise by 0.68 percent in the first bloc, 0.9 percent in the second, 1.93 in the third, and 2.24 percent in the fourth bloc. The price of the low day-time electricity tariff will rise by 0.9 percent.

“The price of electricity for households consists of two components, one of them is for electricity, the other is a grid access fee. The grid access fee for all blocs is the same and now stands at Mden 2.14. The electricity price for the first bloc will be Mden 4.44, together with the grid access fee it will be Mden 6.58 per KWh, while it previously was Mden 6.53. The total price for the second bloc will be Mden 7.71, previously it was Mden 7.64. For the third bloc it will be Mden 9.57, previously it was Mden 9.39. In the fourth bloc it will be Mden 20.4, while it previously stood at Mden 20. The price of the daytime low tariff was Mden 4.08 and now it will be Mden 4.12,” Bislimoski clarified at a press conference.

This means that an average household in the country that pays an electricity bill of Mden 2300, will have added expenses of Mden 21 with the increase, Bislimoski said.
