Available digital health services integrated in E-Health

Available digital health services integrated in E-Health

Skopje, 24 April 2023 (MIA) - The Ministry of Health and the UNICEF Office in Skopje promoted Monday web-platform E-Health that integrates all available health services in one place. The platform in Macedonian and Albanian language will offer public information related to health, description and promotion of current programmes available to citizens, registers and analytical reports used in health.

The web-platform, developed by e-appointment platform "Moj Termin" and supported by USAID and UNICEF, also has a separate section dedicated to immunization, giving parents, guardians and the public access to all information on children's vaccines.

Health Minister Fatmir Mexhiti said the digitization processes have begun in the health sector, highlighting the need for upgrading and investments based on the needs of health workers and patients.

"The new platform will provide all information and news related to digital processes. This is especially important in the part of immunization, since World Immunization Week is starting today, focused on the protection of more children and adults from diseases that can be prevented by vaccination," said Minister Mexhiti.

UNICEF Representative Patrizia DiGiovanni said that although it seems that information is easily accessible in the digital era, research has shown that one in four parents in North Macedonia consider there is insufficient access to information when making decisions regarding vaccination of their children.

"Access to information is of critical importance and we have to promote resources such as E-Health, which provides the latest and credible information that will help the public make the best health-related decisions. We hope the platform will be a step forward in facilitating access to information and services and restoration of trust in vaccines," noted DiGiovanni.
