Skopje, 5 December 2023 (MIA) – Autopsy has been completed on the bodies of 14-year-old Vanja Gjorchevska and 74-year-old Panche Zhezhovski at the Institute of Forensic Medicine and Criminology, but the reports are not ready yet, the Ministry of Interior and the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Skopje told MIA.
The autopsy report should feature the cause and manner of death for Vanja Gjorchevska, who was found dead near Skopje on December 3 after she was reported missing on November 27, and for Panche Zhezhovski who was found dead near Veles on December 3 after he was reported missing on November 24.
The court ordered on Monday 48-hour detention for suspects Velibor Manev, Vlatko Keshishov and Bore Videvski, who are members of the political party Desna whose founder is the primary suspect in the case, Ljupcho Palevski-Palcho, who has fled the country and is now wanted on an international warrant for the investigation of the crimes of kidnapping and murder.
The Skopje-based Criminal Court also ordered late Monday a 48-hour detention for Vanja Gjorchevska's father, Aleksandar Gjorchevski, who is one of the suspects in her murder. According to the court, the detention is ordered due to risk of absconding and interfering with witnesses.
In addition to the investigation on Palevski, criminal charges are expected for the other suspects, after which an investigation would be launched. Thus, the Public Prosecutor's Office would be able to request that further measures be ordered.
