Austria's Hütter appointed Monaco coach

Berlin, 5 July 2023 (dpa/MIA) - Austrian Adi Hütter has been appointed Monaco coach, the French Ligue 1 club said on Tuesday.

Monaco said that Hütter has signed a two-year contract until 2025 and will start training with the team on Wednesday.

Monaco parted ways with their Belgian coach Philippe Clement after failing to qualify for Europe in the past season.

Hütter won the Austrian championship with Red Bull Salzburg and the Swiss league with Young Boys before going to Germany for three years at Eintracht Frankfurt, reaching the Europa League semi-finals. He moved on to Borussia Mönchengladbach where he only lasted one season until 2022.

"We are very pleased to welcome Adi Hütter to AS Monaco. Over the last few years, Adi has proved himself in a number of different leagues, as well as on the continental stage," the club's director of football, Thiago Scuro, said.
