Croatia went ahead when Borna Coric defeated Thanasi Kokkinakis 6-4, 6-3. Alex de Minaur levelled the tie thanks to a 6-2, 6-2 thrashing of Marin Cilic. It therefore came down to the doubles rubber where Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson prevailed 6-7 (3-7), 7-5, 6-4 over Nikola Mektic and Mate Pavic.
