As of Thursday and Friday cooking oil can be purchased in all markets
Veles, 20 April 2022 (MIA) – General manager of Veles-based Blagoj Gjorev plant Goran Lazov said Wednesday that the price of cooking oil will range between €2.20 and €2.40 or reach a maximum of €2.50, and this price will remain unchanged after Easter holiday.
“I do not expect the price of cooking oil to rise. After Easter holiday, the price will stabilize. There is no need for citizens to panic buy and stockpile edible oil, as there will be sufficient quantities in the supermarkets,” Lazov said after meeting with the Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi and Agriculture Minister Ljupcho Nikolovski, who paid a visit to the plant.
According to Lazov, the price of cooking oil in Bulgaria is Mden 180 or 6 leva, and Greece is around €4.
Responding to reporters’ questions, Lazov noted that there is enough raw materials, continuously procured from Bulgaria.
Lazov expressed hope that land under sunflower seeds in the country will increase.
The annual capacity of Blagoj Gjorev plant is 40,000 tons of sunflower seeds, and 16,000 tons of crude oil can be stored.
If the production of sunflower seed is increased, we will buy out the entire crops.
