Skopje, 7 October 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska and the Vice-Governor of the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), Tomáš Boček, signed an agreement Monday for a non-refundable grant of EUR 1.1 million that will fund the installation of photovoltaic systems in around 50 schools in the country.

“The schools will replace their energy based on fossil fuels with clean and renewable energy. By doing so, they will further contribute to the protection of the environment and save funds that could be spent on improving the learning conditions,” the Ministry of Education and Science said in a press release. 

At the signing of the agreement, Janevska expressed her gratitude to the CEB for the continued support of the country’s efforts to improve the infrastructural conditions in education.

Minister Janevska voiced expectations that cooperation aimed at meeting the European quality standards will continue in the future.
