Army helicopters put Kostin Dol wildfire under control
Kochani, 3 August 2021 (MIA) – The wildfire the villages of Kostin Dol and Novo Selo near Kochani are still burning but put under control by the army helicopters.
“Eighty members of the Army and about 20 firefighters, employees of the Protection and Rescue Directorate and ‘National Forests’ enterprise, as well as the local population have been engaged in putting the blaze under control. The army helicopters significantly helped in this. Weather conditions permitted, the fire on the north side will be controlled by the end of the day,” said Blagoj Paunov, head of the Kochani fire-fighting unit.
The fire affected several dozen hectares of oak and beech forest.
