Washington, 22 February 2026 (dpa/MIA) - An armed man was shot dead by authorities at US President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, the US Secret Service announced on X on Sunday.

The man, who was in his early 20s, trespassed into the security perimeter of the Florida estate on Saturday and was "carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can," the post read.

Trump, who often flies to his private club in Palm Beach on weekends, was not there at the time.

The incident is being investigated, said the agency, which is responsible for the president's security.
